“The Great Faithfulness Of God”

“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22,23).

Message summary: A firm, growing grasp of God’s faithfulness is an essential source of assurance and peace in the Christian life.

“I Have Hope!”

Listen to our message on your audio player.“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:21-23).

Note: Our messages have been later getting out. We are a two person team and rather overwhelmed with end of year correspondence, accounting and reporting. What’s more an old sports injury is really flaring up over the last week. It’s a hernia from a baseball injury in little league exacerbated by my bike accident this last Spring. It has been repaired numerous times as recently as 2009 but I have a feeling I messed something up in the bike accident as well as the surgeries I had in 2002 as mentioned in the following message. At the time of my accident the biggest concern was the torn rotator cuff which has improved significantly. So I am preaching to myself the message we share today!

Message summary: As we say farewell to 2022 our prayer for each of you is that you will be filled with hope because of God’s unchanging character.

“I Will Sing Of My Redeemer”

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Message summary: Hide John 3:16 deep in your heart. I find it helpful to personalize it. “For God loved me so much that He gave His one and only Son, that as I believe in Him, I will not perish but have eternal life”. Indeed, God’s wondrous love is given to us through the person of Jesus Christ. We cannot earn His love but we can receive it. Won’t you receive Him today!

“The Man Who Held Jesus”

“Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Christ” (Luke 2:25,26).”For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness” (Galatians 5:5).

Message summary: Today we cannot take the infant Jesus in our arms. That privilege was only experienced by a few. He is now majestically seated at the right hand of God the Father, having fully accomplished the mission for which He was sent into the world; to save sinners. But we can raise our arms and praise God acknowledging, as Simeon did, that Jesus is indeed the Lord’s Christ. And today redeemed sinners are doing just that all over the world. We are just two of them and we sure hope you are as well!

“His Indescribable Gift”

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).

“See Him In A Manger Laid”

And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger” (Luke 2:7).And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger” (Luke 2:7).

Weather note: Today we are getting our first seasonal spate of really cold winter weather with strong winds and dropping temps. Perhaps even some snow! Thankfully we are not out again till tomorrow but then it gets down to the low teens. The kind of weather that helps you understand why many elderly go to Florida in the winter!

Message summary: Today let us lift Him up, the One whom Mary laid in the manger!

“The Offense Of The Manger”

“Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone’, and ‘A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense'” (1 Peter 2:7,8).

Message summary: Let those of us who love Jesus Christ continue to declare His unsurpassed greatness with boldness and without shame this holy season and everyday of the year!

“Wise Men Still Seek Him”

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem saying ‘Where is the One who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him’” (Matthew 2:1,2). “And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way” (Matthew 2:12).

Message summary: During this season as we reflect on the Christmas story let us determine that, like the wise men, we too will worship the King.

“I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day”

“Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah: “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be comforted, because they are no more” (Matthew 2:16-18).

Message summary: Whatever you are going through may the Lord enable you to hear the bells!
